As February 26th local government elections in Enugu state draws near, various political parties have been oiling their mechenaries in readiness to the election.
The ruling party in the state, People’s Democratic Party, PDP on Saturday conducted her primary elections across the state.
In Nkanu West council area, Hon. Uche Ejim who garnered a total of 270 votes out of 332 votes was declared winner by the ENSIEC electoral officer for Nkanu West local government, Festus Onyeka.
The cheering crowd who were seen in their numbers exchanging pleasantries with the candidate of the party expressed their optimism that victory is of the party during the election.
In an interview with Daily Gazette Correspondent, Hon. Uche Ejim who could not hide his joy over the trust reposed on him by the party, dedicated the victory to God, the Governor of the state, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the entire people of Nkanu West for their total support and solidarity, assuring that with him, the party is sure of victory at the polls.
The party primary election attracted notable political stalwarts, Governor’s appointees, party loyalists and other well wishers.
