A leading political support group in Enugu state, Gburugburu Movement has congratulated Hon. Uchenna Callistus Ejim, on emerging the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 26th local government elections in Enugu state.
Ejim was elected candidate of the party in a primary election held on Saturday having polled a total of 270 votes to defeat his closest rival, Okafor Okonkwo who got 2 votes at the Party Secretariat in Agbani.
While congratulating Uche Ejim on his victory in the primary, the group said that the election had come to an end, calling on other contestants in the election not to see the conclusion of the Chairmanship primaries “as the end of the beginning, but rather the beginning of the end.”
“We thank the state Chairman who, together with his leadership, has remained neutral. We congratulate the PDP family in Nkanu West Local government who has given the state the most peaceful and organised process of choosing a candidate.”
Gburugburu Movement Nkanu West chapter called on the PDP in the council and beyond to pull together as a family towards what they described as “a journey of building a better Nkanu West for the future of our children”.
