As 2023 political game gathers momentum, Labour Party, LP has risen in great ranks in Enugu State as it continues to gain membership of those who left the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP in disenchantment.
In Enugu today, none of the two major political parties – the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party- know its fate as the Labour Party has suddenly become the new bride for politicians, youths and the ordinary citizens of the state.
Fortunes smiled on Labour party when Mr. Peter Obi, the two time governor of Anambra State and former PDP Presidential aspirant left PDP for Labour Party.
Dissatisfied with the outcome of the PDP primaries in Enugu State, many party faithfuls who felt misled and shortchanged left the party and pitched their tent with the Labour Party.
In an interview with DAILY GAZETTE correspondent, the spokesperson of Enugu labour Party governorship campaign organization, Engr. George Ugwu expressed the readiness of the party to take over the state come 2023.
Engr. Ugwu urged Ndi Enugu to embrace Labour Party and key into their people oriented program designed to move Nigeria from consumption economy to a productive one.
“The forthcoming political revolution will not elude Enugu state” he stated.
He however expressed optimism that with the new electoral act in place, 2023 will be the time to right many wrongs.
