Governorship candidate of Labour Party in Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga has described as hoax the statement allegedly credited to him over the purported endorsement by the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rt. Rev Prof Emmanuel Chukwuma, describing it as the handiworks of desperate politicians who are trying to ignite unnecessary denominational fight in Enugu State.
Spokesman of Edeoga Campaign Organization, Engr George Ugwu made the statement in a telephone interview with our correspondent today, October 3.
Engr. Ugwu said that Chijioke Edeoga did not say anything like that, describing Edeoga as a respecter of denomination and faith. “
“Edeoga is an ecumenist who has respect for all denominations and all faiths” he said. According to him , while Edeoga was at the Adoration grounds as an ordinary citizen to worship and celebrate with the Adoration family on the reopening of the grounds, the purveyors of lies and hate were busy sowing seeds of disunity and acrimony.
Rt. Hon. Barr. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga
He described the purported endorsement as the handiworks of desperate politicians who are trying to ignite unnecessary denominational fight to draw public attention away from the numerous deficits of their candidate.
Engr Ugwu further described the stories of the said endorsement as fake and figment of the imagination of the originators.
